INTERACTING WITH THE CONTEXT
The shell design is reminiscent of a sports car's silhouette. The construction is planned to utilize MARHI technology, and the exterior will be covered with an ETFE membrane.
The appearance of the proposed structure was informed by its contextual environment. The skyline of the Industrial Square, with the smooth forms of adjacent pavilions mirrored along the central axis marked by the 'Vostok' rocket model, was taken as the foundation.
This approach amplifies the existing context and its most advantageous aspects.
The proposed design solution involved covering the existing structure with a technologically advanced shell in the parametricism style.
The motorsport pavilion, located in the industrial square at VDNH in Moscow, is in need of renovation. The project set forth the objective of restoring the building while maintaining its modernist architectural style, and simultaneously giving it a modern and distinctive appearance.
