The green roof forms a new landscape, providing shelter for visitors. At the entrance, branch-like columns resembling tree canopies create a welcoming atmosphere. The roof is almost entirely green and accessible, serving as a recreational space in summer. In winter, it transforms into a playful landscape, offering areas for sledding and ice skating.
Our project envisions the sustainable development of Perm by establishing a pedestrian route that follows the city’s green framework, connecting its historical Shpagin Plant—the site of its founding—to the newly designed Expo Pavilion. This approach emphasizes the continuity of urban planning by recognizing and reinforcing the city's natural and architectural fabric.
Expo pavilion
The building’s form is based on the wing of a bird-shaped idol, reinterpreted through bionic parametric architecture. As Perm approaches its 300th anniversary, the wing becomes a symbol of the region’s growth and evolution.
The design of the Expo Pavilion draws inspiration from the ancient traditions of the Komi-Permyak people, referencing the Perm Animal Style, a unique cultural heritage.
